The vacant site, currently cleared of the petrol station is cordoned off from the public by temporary metal construction fence panels on all sides. The design of the two apartment buildings has been developed to be responsive to the immediate context in terms of an appropriate massing strategy and materials palette.
Each of the apartments will benefit from private amenity space in the form of terraces, new private gardens or additional internal space, significantly enhancing the ecological value of the currently baron site.
40 secure cycle parking spaces will be provided to encourage the use of sustainable travel methods and the development is slated to achieve a 35% carbon reduction target (beyond Part L 2013) and meet the zero carbon home standard via a cash-in-lieu contribution to the London Borough of Barnet.
The 20 new dwellings will be fully compliant with the London Plan and Life Time Homes.
