Royal Arsenal Riverside

Six new residential towers between 8 and 21 storeys, housing a total of 1 million sqft of accommodation sit atop and astride the Elizabeth Line Woolwich Station box.

The 600 new dwellings vary in tenure between market for sale, PRS, shared ownership, social rented and senior living apartments. There are shops and offices in the twin storey podium covering the whole site and within this, and key to the development, the entrance to the station itself. Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands provided the masterplan and worked up the detailed planning application of the entire scheme coordinating with the wider framework for the Royal Arsenal Riverside.

Other Projects

Sainsbury’s Watford

This Sainsbury’s takes the form of a modern box, low to the ground with carefully concealed plant and services. The west facade features a ‘shop-front’ glass wall, giving glimpses of the activity inside and glowing at night.

Thames Wharf Studio

The promotion of the views across the river was central to an ‘unwritten brief’ for this extension to a mid 20th century steel-framed building surrounded by a group of late Victorian warehouses on the Thames in West London.

Riverside Walkway

This extension of the Upper Ground project, which arose from the Urban Design Strategy we developed for London’s South Bank, applies the same urban design principles to the prominent Riverside Walk that links the various cultural and community facilities along the River Thames embankment.
