Northstowe Masterplan

Situated approximately 10km to the north of Cambridge, between the existing villages of Longstanton and Oakington, the development of Northstowe is a masterplan for a new town of approximately 10,000 homes.

Led by the Homes and Communities Agency (now Homes England) and Gallagher Estates, in close liaison with South Cambridgeshire County Council we were invited to submit proposals  as part of the masterplan on behalf of our client L&Q. Sitting at the southern limits of the Cambridgeshire fenlands, the site is formed by a combination of the now defunct Oakington RAF base and several local farms.  The future town will be connected to Cambridge to the south, where the A14 is currently being upgraded in anticipation of future demand, and the Cambridge Guided Bus-way (CGB) which runs from north Cambridge through to St Ives and Huntingdon.

We provided L&Q with a background summary of work undertaken to date on Northstowe Phase 2 and initial proposals for 450 homes for Phase 2a for the Homes England (HE) Sifting Brief.
