Hanover
Fifteen years in the making, Hanover Square’s reimagining is complete - transforming Mayfair’s first Garden Square
18 Hanover Square
This handsome new nine-storey office building over the entrance to the new Elizabeth Line Crossrail station is executed in a modern reworking of classic Mayfair vernacular. Solid bronze windows rise to six storeys with flowing aluminium balustrades and rhythmic Portland stone reveals. Above, the building is gently set back, and handmade brick cladding gives way to three floors of pure Portland stone.
1 Medici Courtyard
We have scrupulously restored five New Bond Street façades and augmented them with one elegant new frontage of Bath stone and bronze-framed windows, replacing a very poor elevation. Behind these façades and entered from a resplendent new reception lobby are new offices above basement, ground- and first-floor shops that all enhance and enliven the streetscape to Mayfair standards.
14 Brook Street
Six luxury 2-bed and 3-bed apartments are set above a large shop, arranged behind retained façades of differing periods, materials and levels. The external materials are of high-quality granite and carved Bath stone, with bronze-framed windows and doors at street level.
Public realm
A new piazza, Medici Courtyard, and new arcade link Hanover Square to New Bond Street. Shops and restaurants line the north side of this intimate new public space, offering a hideaway from the busy West End. Hanover Square has been immeasurably improved with traffic removed from its western side, creating a welcoming landscaped pedestrian realm for the new Crossrail exit.
Our scheme for the new west side of Hanover Square encompasses nearly a quarter of a million square feet of Grade A office space, flagship shops and luxury apartments, plus a new Crossrail station, a stunning new public courtyard, and re-landscaped gardens. It restores the neglected square and its satellite streets to their former grace and beauty – a revitalised slice of classic London for everyone to enjoy.
